What is Classification?
Classification is the organisation of different things into groups of related types. Classification makes life a lot easier for everyone, not just scientists but for any normal human being. Even in supermarkets everyday items are classified by type or by the way they are packaged to make life a lot easier. People use keys to classify things and one of the most common keys are Dichotomous, Tabular and circular keys.
Animal Classification!
Animals are classified into groups according to their structural features. Structural features describe how the animals are physically made up. The main structural feature used to classify animals is whether they have a back bone or not. The animal kingdom is split into two groups Vertebrates and Invertebrates.
pLANT cLASSIFICATION!
Plants are classified according to several different characteristics - their physical features and how they feel and reproduce. Just like the animal kingdom is split into two groups - Vertebrates and Invertebrates the Plant kingdom is split into two groups to - Vascular plants and bryophytes.
